About FluteForte!
FluteForte! is a Richmond based flute choir with members from all walks of life who simply have a passion for making and sharing their music with others. The ensemble enjoys performing a variety of musical genres with a mission of promoting musical excellence within our community.
History of the Ensemble
FluteForte! was formed in 2012 out of a previous group. That previous
group shared the same name with another DC area flute choir, therefore, it was decided a new name was needed and FluteForte! was selected. Forte, meaning strength, because playing flutes is our strength!
We rehearsed at Three Chopt Presbyterian Church until 2020. Then during the ‘21-22 season, coming out of the covid pandemic, the ensemble rehearsed at Derbyshire Baptist. All Saints Episcopal Church has been our home since August of ‘22.
We have often performed for the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens’ Festival of Lights, Ginter Park Women’s Club, area churches, retirement communities and the VA Hospital for both Chapel and their Veteran’s Day program. Bruton Parish's Candlelight Concert Series is one of our favorite performance venues and it has become our tradition to schedule our final program of the year there since the spring of 2013.
